(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 1, 2016) - - - Columbia State Community College's Pryor Art Gallery will be hosting "Echo of Dreams," digital photo montage exhibit Nov. 15 - Jan. 18, which features work from Jane Vickers, digital artist and photographer paired with digital music by Mark Lee, Columbia State professor of music.

Vickers draws viewers into her world of fantasy to experience new thoughts and sensations viewed through her iconic images montaged into unexpected landscapes and new worlds like an echo of dreams.

Vickers, a Florence, Kentucky native, currently resides in Franklin and is a member of the Brentwood Photography Group and the Society of Nashville Artistic Photographers.

The gallery will be staged with a large format monitor looping a video of Vickers describing her artistic vision, influencers, digital technique and her personal journey. The walls will showcase works that will lead the viewer on a visual journey telling a visual story through each photo montage.

The new release of original digital music, created by Lee, will enrich the visual journey with his unique sound rounding out each fantasy as the viewer walks the room.

A writers' station will be set up in the middle of the gallery for visitors to record their thoughts, reflect on the exhibit and create their own story or poem from the montages. Visitors will be encouraged to record their creation on their smartphone and post on our college's Facebook page and other social media platforms.

"In today's digital world, anything is possible to imagine," said Michele Wilkinson, Pryor Art Gallery curator. "Gaming has raised the bar for this new generation's expectations in entertainment. I believe that this exhibit will provide the perfect experience for the creative spirit to view, write and share the visual journey that this digital work has inspired them to go on."

The artist reception will be open to the public Dec. 1 from 5 - 8 p.m. Vickers' limited edition work will be available for purchase throughout the exhibit. This exhibit has been funded by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.

The Pryor Art Gallery is in the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia Campus.
