TN Achieves Summer Institute
The TN Achieves Summer Institute allows Columbia State first time freshmen students requiring all three Learning Support requirements (LS Reading, LS Math, and LS Writing) to take 13 hours of summer coursework to address these needs while completing college-level corequisite courses.
Students must be registered and accepted by TN Achieves and meet all eligibility requirements.

Students participating in the TN Achieves Summer Institute must also apply for admission to Columbia State and complete requirements for Financial Aid.
Summer 2025 Summer Institute courses dates and times:
- June 2 – July 19
- Mondays through Fridays
- 8:50 AM to 3:00 PM
During this seven-week, summer program, students will complete:
- COLS 101 College Success (1 credit hr.)
- ENGL 0825 Reading and Writing Learning Support (3 credit hrs.)
- ENGL 1010 English Composition I (3 credit hrs.)
- MATH 0530 Math Learning Support for Introductory Statistics (3 credit hrs.)
- MATH 1530 Introductory Statistics (3 credit hrs.)
Students must attend all courses as required.
