Why Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is a program that allows eligible high school juniors and seniors to begin earning college credit while they are still in high school. High school students can begin transitioning their thinking from high school thinking to college thinking.

Learn How to Get Started with Dual Enrollment

The Many Benefits of Dual Enrollment!

  • High school juniors and seniors can explore college-level work while still supported by a network of parents, teachers and friends.
  • There is grant money available to take college classes while in high school! Once you graduate, you can never access those funds again.
  • Dual Enrollment credits are college credits, so they transfer to your college or university after you graduate from high school.
  • Dual Enrollment can mean Dual Credit. The college course, if approved by the high school, will count toward high school graduation requirements, as well.
  • You have the option of graduating from college sooner, or even better, of decompressing your college schedule or adding electives you might otherwise not have had the opportunity to take.

If approved by your school, college courses may also apply towards high school requirements. Dual enrollment advising begins and ends under the guidance of your high school. Start by visiting your counselor or umbrella program to determine your eligibility, course suggestions and credit options.
