Columbia State Recognizes More than 150 Student Honors and Awards Recipients

More than 150 Columbia State Community College students received honors for excellence in academics, leadership and service for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Anderson County: Ashley Gerber (Oak Ridge) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA.

Bedford County: Julia Andres (Shelbyville) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Soccer Award, and Kaitlyn Madeo (Shelbyville) was recognized as a TRiO graduate. 

Bradley County: Madison Tennant (Cleveland) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Soccer Award.

Cobb County (GA): Wade Richardson (Powder Springs) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award.

Coffee County: Darius Rozier (Tullahoma) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Men’s Basketball Award.

Davidson County: Katelyn Do (Brentwood) was honored for her efforts as a senator for the Student Government Association; Greg Hale (Nashville) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Georgia Hall (Antioch) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Amy Moore (Nashville) received the Academic Discipline Award in Medical Laboratory Technology; Kiara Tirado (Nashville) was honored for her efforts as the Student Government Association Williamson Campus senator; David Wilson (Nashville) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award; and Dayton Woods (Old Hickory) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award.

Dickson County: Brandi Holland (Dickson) received the Academic Discipline Award in Emergency Medical Services.

Fairfield County (OH): Ryan Smith (Pickerington) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA and a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award.

Giles County: Ava Brittain (Pulaski) was recognized as the Carolyn Allred/Lewis Moore Outstanding Student of the Year, was honored for her efforts as the Phi Theta Kappa vice president of fellowship, received the Academic Discipline Award in Introduction to Biology research and received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Zarina Gurley (Prospect) was recognized as a TRiO graduate and for her efforts as a Peer Leader; Kieffer Matthew (Pulaski) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award; Kayla Reichardt (Pulaski) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Alexandra Rose (Prospect) was recognized for her efforts as a Peer Leader; Callie Stone (Lynnville) was recognized for her efforts as Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society president; and Andrew Vernon (Pulaski) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA. 

Hamilton County: Spencer Keylon (Soddy Daisy) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award.

Hardin County: Ronald Miller (Savannah) was recognized as a TRiO graduate.

Hickman County: Matthew Crist (Nunnelly) received the Academic Discipline Award in Engineering; Cora Hall (Lyles) was recognized as a member of the Lambda Beta Honor Society; Hannah Morris (Centerville) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; and Deanna Williams (Centerville) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Women’s Basketball Award.

Knox County: Alexa Sierra (Knoxville) received the Academic Discipline Award in Criminal Justice.

Lauderdale County (AL): Alyssa Brown (Lexington) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Softball Award; Jaiden Cox (Killen) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Softball Award; Collin Huntley (Florence) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA and a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award; and Micalyn White (Lexington) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Softball Award. 

Lawrence County: Andrea Burleson (Lawrenceburg) was recognized for her efforts as a Peer Leader; Jase Collier (Summertown) received the Academic Discipline Award in Spanish; Jackson Crews (Lawrenceburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Matthew Dewar (Ethridge) was recognized as a TRiO graduate and was honored for his efforts as a Peer Leader; Sophia Dorning (Lawrenceburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Brooklyn Gabel (Summertown) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Softball Award; Josie Heatherly (Leoma) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Lauren Holley (Lawrenceburg) was recognized as a TRiO graduate; Carrie Lentini (Summertown) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Jennifer Lindzy (Ethridge) was recognized as a TRiO graduate; Madison Martin-Porter (Lawrenceburg) received the Academic Discipline Award in Human Anatomy and Physiology; Karlee McLain (Westpoint) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Brittney McLin (Iron City) was recognized for her efforts as a Peer Leader; Caralee Old (Lawrenceburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Jordan Renfro (Lawrenceburg) was recognized for his efforts as the Student Government Association Lawrence Campus senator; Courtney Staggs (Lawrenceburg) was recognized as a TRiO graduate; Sandra Wall was honored for her efforts as the Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society vice president; Tia Wallner (Lawrenceburg)  was recognized for her efforts as the Student Government Association secretary/treasurer; Kaleigh Wood (Lawrenceburg) was recognized as a TRiO graduate; and Gregory Yates (Lawrenceburg) received the Academic Discipline Award in Radiologic Technology.

Lewis County: Hohenwald residents Jennifer Baker, Kimberly Patterson and Clayton Runions received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA.

Marshall County: Alexus Barlow (Chapel Hill) received the Academic Discipline Award in Theater Arts; Rebecca Bautista (Chapel Hill) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA and received the Academic Discipline Award in Nursing; Britni Davis (Lewisburg) was honored as a member of the Lambda Beta Honor Society; Emily Derryberry (Cornersville) was recognized as the Phi Theta Kappa Williamson Campus representative; Devon Easterday (Lewisburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA and received the Academic Discipline Award in Chemistry; Dylan Easterday (Lewisburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Pilar Garcia (Chapel Hill) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA, received the Academic Discipline Award in English and was recognized for their efforts as a Peer Leader; Faith Kennedy (Chapel Hill) was honored for her efforts as a Student Government Association vice president; Natalie Lampley (Lewisburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Ashley Neill received the Academic Discipline Award in Respiratory Care and was honored as a member of the Lambda Beta Honor Society; Kate Oliver (Belfast) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Robert Pollock (Belfast) was recognized as the Phi Theta Kappa Lewisburg Campus representative; Jessie Robinson (Petersburg) was recognized as a TRiO graduate; Jada Scarfone (Lewisburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; and Jennifer Southworth (Lewisburg) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA.

Pleasant) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Soccer Award; and Savannah Whitten (Columbia) received the Academic Discipline Award in Physics.

Montgomery County: Kristen Reish (Clarksville) was recognized as a member of the All-USA Community and Junior College Academic Team and as the Veteran Student Organization president.

Rutherford County: Nancie Baker (Murfreesboro) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Alena Daniel (Rockvale) was recognized for her efforts as a senator for the Student Government Association; Courtney Larry (Murfreesboro) received the Academic Discipline Award in Art; Opal Lovitt (Christiana) received the Jo. L. Hutton Prize and an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Benjamin Massa (Murfreesboro) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; and Ellie Woodard (Smyrna) received the Academic Discipline Award in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Shelby County: Preston Ford (Millington) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award.

Smith County: Joseph Parliament (Lancaster) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Baseball Award.

Warren (KY): Eriona Shabani (Bowling Green) received a TCCAA All-Academic Athletic Soccer Award. 

Wayne County: Lacey Gross (Lutts) was recognized as a TRiO graduate; and James Mitchell (Waynesboro) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA and received the Academic Discipline Award in Computer Information Technology.

Williamson County: Alaina Beck (Franklin) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Tasha Brown (Thompson’s Station) received an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 3.9-4.0 GPA; Shara Casey (Franklin) received the Academic Discipline Award in World History; Abigail Cowherd-Contreras (Spring Hill) received the Academic Discipline Award in Humanities; Stephanie David (Brentwood) received the Academic Discipline Award in Veterinary Technology;
