Columbia State Statistics Professor Conducts Presidential Survey
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 4, 2016) - - - Andrew Wright, assistant professor of mathematics at Columbia State Community College, recently conducted a college-wide presidential election survey that indicated the majority of respondents were likely to vote for Donald Trump during the 2016 election.
"The survey results were gathered from a small, voluntary sample," Wright said. "For this reason, the results may not be indicative of the actual outcome on election night."
Wright conducted this survey to illustrate basic, real-word statistics for his classes as related to the upcoming election. The results indicated that 35 percent will vote for Hillary Clinton, 45 percent will vote for Donald Trump and approximately nine percent are still undecided.
The responses were gathered from 480 Columbia State faculty, staff and students. Sixty-six percent of respondents were female and 28 percent were male. Of the respondents, 88 percent are registered to vote.
