Center for Workforce Development Offers Paralegal Certificate Course

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Feb. 15, 2016) - - - Beginning April 1, Columbia State Community College's Center for Workforce Development will offer a "Paralegal Certificate" course at its Columbia Campus. The course is available for area residents interested in pursuing a career as a paralegal.

The "Paralegal Certificate" course is designed to prepare students for the job market in the legal industry and give them the knowledge and skills needed to begin their career as quickly as possible.

Students will be trained to interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, prepare legal documents, and assist in preparing cases for litigation. The instruction is practice-oriented and relates to those areas of law in which paralegals are in most demand.

Classes will take place Fridays from 5:30 - 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. through May 21.

The cost for this course is $1,289. Textbooks are not included in the cost of this course. Registration closes March 22, so register now. Limited seats are available.

The class will meet in Room 119 of the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia Campus, located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
