Respiratory Care Club Hosts 7th Annual 5K Run/Walk

Pre-Registration Open Until Friday, Feb. 13

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Feb. 6, 2015) - - -
On March 7, Columbia State Community College's Respiratory Care Club will host their 7th Annual 5k Run/Walk.

"It's exciting to see the 5K continue each year," said R. David Johnson, program director and associate professor of respiratory care. "These students all get together and work toward the same goal, so it's a great bonding experience for everyone involved."

The 5k run/walk will take place at Maury County Park in Columbia. In addition, there will be a one-mile fun-walk for kids and a one-mile pet run/walk. All pets must be on a leash.

Pre-registration is open until Friday, Feb. 13. It is $20 to pre-register for the 5k run/walk, and the one-mile fun-run and pet walk/run are $10 each. Early registrants will receive a T-shirt.

Race-day registration begins at 8 a.m. and is $30 for the 5k run/walk. The one-mile fun-run and pet run/walk are $15 each. The race begins at 9 a.m.

The event was planned in conjunction with Maury County Parks and Recreation, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, as well as Maury County Parks & Recreation. The Respiratory Care Club also uses the event to raise money to attend the respiratory care state convention.

The race is open to all, and the registration form is available online at www.columbiastate.edu/5k-run-walk. For additional information, contact Angie Hargrove at (931) 334-5715 or ahargrove6@columbiastate.edu.
