Columbia State Offers New Fitness Training Certification Course

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jan. 9, 2014) - - - Columbia State Community College's Center for Workforce Development is offering a free information session Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. for those interested in taking the new "Personal Fitness Trainer Certification" course.

The one-hour presentation is designed to provide information for anyone interested in the fitness profession or in becoming a nationally certified personal trainer and includes a brief overview of the industry and professional trends, a preview of the study materials and a question and answer session.

Seating is limited, so please call (931) 540-2659 to register for the free information session, which will take place at the Williamson County campus, located at 104 Claude Yates Drive in Franklin.

The "Personal Fitness Trainer Certification" course begins March 1 at Columbia State's Williamson County campus and will give students the knowledge, practice and experience necessary to be successful in the fitness industry.

This eight-week course prepares students to practice as a professional Personal Fitness Trainer and will cover topics such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, equipment usage, fitness testing and health assessment.
