Linden & Pulaski Summer Math Academies

2009 Summer Math Academy at Tennessee Career Center, Pulaski, Tennessee

The Columbia State Community College Summer Math Academy was held July 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2009 in Pulaski, Tennessee. The South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance had a need for The Summer Math Academy in Giles County and Columbia State welcomed the opportunity to provide the academy to students in Giles County, TN.

2009 Summer Math Academy at Tennessee Career Center, Linden, Tennessee

From July 13-16, Columbia State Community College hosted the Math for Life summer math academy in Linden, TN, which provided an opportunity for middle school students to increase their knowledge of math through a series of fun interactive workshops that helped them learn to improve their academic performance by identifying strengths as a way to overcome academic challenges.

"Students received extensive information from certified math instructors on the need to master math skills in the area of percentages, addition, multiplication, division, subtraction, arithmetic, financial skills, finance, and basic math," said Christa Martin, Assistant to the President for Access & Diversity. "Our goal was for them to have fun, learn fundamentals, and imagine their future in math."

South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance had a need for The Summer Math Academy in Perry County and Columbia State welcomed the opportunity to provide The Summer Math Academy to students in Perry County, TN.
