COLUMBIA STATE STUDENTS WRITE AND PRODUCE MUSIC VIDEO

(Franklin, Tenn. - May 16, 2011) - - - Columbia State Community College's Commercial Entertainment Department students recently wrote and produced a student video entitled "Thanks, Columbia State!" The inspiration for the video came from student Seth Teegarden whose younger brother and friends had recently participated in a video project for their church.

"Their video was so well done and creative, I had to have one of my own," remarked Teegarden. "A video about Columbia State was absolutely fitting."

As part of Columbia State's Digital Music Production class, Teegarden was assigned to write three original songs and present the recordings as part of the final project. Teegarden wrote "Thanks, Columbia State!" as part of this final project and also presented it to his Advanced Songwriting class.

Teegarden immediately jumped at the opportunity to take his original song and develop it into a music video with fellow Commercial Entertainment students.

"As thanks to our teachers and everyone at Columbia State, we thought we would show our appreciation with a video," explained Teegarden.

The video was a surprise gift for Commercial Entertainment department faculty and staff. The video features Commercial Entertainment students and was produced with the help of Columbia State's Film Crew Technology students. The music and video is entirely student written and produced.
