"We are happy to announce that both Jay Joyner and Mike Corn are now officially regular full-time employees of Columbia State Community College, as men's head basketball coach and baseball coach, respectively," said Cecelia Johnson, associate vice president for student services. "Both Jay and Mike did a great job in their first year at Columbia State not only on the court/field, but also off. They are great role models for our student athletes and we are proud to have them continue as part of the Columbia State team."
Corn led the Chargers baseball team to a 27-22 record last season, and Joyner led the men's hoops team to an impressive 20-5 record prior to losing to Walters State 60-52 in the second round of the 2010 TCCAA/NJCAA Region 7 Tournament. Joyner also was named TCCAA Coach of the Year and Western Division Coach of the Year.
