Transfer Institutions & Recruitment

Tip 1: Attend Columbia State Transfer Fairs to speak directly with representatives from transfer institutions to ask about their institution, program majors, and transfer scholarship opportunities.

Tip 2: Research the transfer institution and the program of your intended major. Visit the transfer institution’s website, meet with transfer recruiters during on-campus transfer meetings, and schedule an in-person tour with the transfer institution if possible.

Tip 3: Communicate with a transfer counselor/recruiter at the institution you plan to attend to discuss how your credits will transfer and which credits the transfer institution will accept. Be sure to check the transfer institution website for program of study academic planning.

Tip 4: Reach out early to the institution you plan to attend to be added to the transfer counselor/recruiter contact list for updates, deadlines, scholarships and other information you will need to know to transfer to their school.
