These programs at Columbia State are designed to prepare students for careers in education across various age groups and specialties. The Early Childhood Education (Pre K-3) program focuses on preparing students to work with young children, offering a path toward roles such as teacher’s assistant or preschool teacher, with potential for certification as a Pre-K to 3rd-grade teacher. The Elementary Education (K-5) program provides a foundation for those aiming to become elementary school teachers. The Secondary Education programs in English, Math, and Social Studies focus on preparing students to teach middle and high school students in these subjects, with certification available upon completing a bachelor's degree. The Special Education program prepares students to support learners with disabilities at all educational levels, from preschool through adulthood. Each program is designed to transfer to a four-year institution to complete the necessary bachelor’s degree and teaching certification.
