Pryor Art Gallery Welcomes the Tennessee Watercolor Society Annual Traveling Exhibition

Columbia State Community College’s Pryor Art Gallery is excited to announce the return of the Tennessee Watercolor Society Annual Traveling Exhibition. The gallery has hosted this prestigious event multiple times, and this year's exhibit promises to showcase the finest watercolor artists in the state. The exhibition will be open to the public from September 13 to October 20.

“The Pryor Art Gallery has been privileged to host the Tennessee Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition several times,” said Rusty Summerville, interim curator of the Pryor Art Gallery. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host this exhibit once again and welcome the community to view the best of the best watercolor artists in Tennessee.”

During the opening of this exhibit in Knoxville, 30 talented artists from West, Middle and East Tennessee were juried and selected to participate in this year’s annual traveling exhibit. These artists represent a wide range of styles and techniques, making this collection a must-see for art enthusiasts of all backgrounds.

To celebrate the exhibit, the Pryor Art Gallery will hold a reception on Thursday, September 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. All are invited to stop by and enjoy the beautiful artwork. Light snacks will be available.

The Pryor Art Gallery is in the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia Campus located at 1665 Hampshire Pike. Admission is free and open to the public, with extended hours during the exhibition:

  • Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Special extra hours for this exhibition: Sat. and Sun., Oct. 19 and 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
