Columbia State Receives Endowment Contribution From Columbia Civitans
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - May 21, 2018) - - - The Columbia Civitan Club recently added a contribution to their existing scholarship endowment through the Columbia State Community College Foundation at a recent Civitan meeting.
The endowed scholarship, established in 1990, was started because the Columbia Civitans believed in the college's mission.
"The Columbia Civitans have been long and faithful supporters of the college and its students," said Bethany Lay, Columbia State vice president for advancement and executive director of the Columbia State Foundation. "We appreciate their continued desire to be involved and to learn about what is happening at their community college."
At the meeting, Lay discussed the importance of continued scholarship support for students that may not qualify for the Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect scholarships and for those that need financial assistance for books and fees.
