About the Innovation Lab

The Innovation Lab is an exciting collection of resources and tools open to all currently enrolled Columbia State students, faculty, and staff. The goal of the Innovation Lab is to provide a space for students (and staff) to utilize technology, enrich the classroom experience, prototype new ideas, and sometimes – just simply build something cool.

The Innovation Lab is housed on the upper level of the Arts & Technology Building on the Williamson campus and consists of two spaces:

  • Room 201: A large, open-access collaborative space with flexible seating to accommodate both individual and group projects.
  • The Innovation Lab “Workroom” (Frankling Arts & Technology Building, Room 213) – a separate conjoined room with a collection of tools and machines available to authorized students, faculty and staff. After training, users can access the Workroom’s laser cutter, 3D printers, hobby CNC, vinyl cutter, and more!

How to Access the Innovation Lab Workroom

Columbia State students are encouraged to utilize the space for course-related projects as well as approved independent initiatives.

Faculty and staff have special options to reserve the space for course-related events and college-related organizations.
