(COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Nov. 5, 2019) - - - Columbia State Community College’s Office of Workforce and Continuing Education has partnered with CrossFlight Sky Solutions to offer the “Drone Pilot Training (Federal Aviation Regulations)” course at the Lawrence Campus beginning Dec. 9.

Classes will take place Monday through Wednesday 8:30 a.m.  5:30 p.m. The 24-hour program is designed to help students become familiar with the basics of becoming a Federal Aviation Administration Certified Remote Pilot in Command and enter the growing field of commercial drone operations. Following completion of the course, students will be ready to take the FAR 107 certification exam and upon receiving certification, safely operate drones for personal or professional use.

“An FAA Commercial Drone Certification (FAR Part 107) is mandatory for anyone who uses a drone for any commercial, civil or business application,” said Jerry Whitaker, CrossFlight CEO. “We feel that this partnership fits perfectly with the school's commitment to excellence and we could not be more excited.”

The cost for this course is $670 and students must have a valid driver’s license to register. Registration closes Nov. 24, so register now as limited seats are available.
