- Medical Coding Certification Prep with Medical Terminology
This class is for individuals who have little to no experience in medical coding but want to become certified. 152 Hours.
Class starts Tuesday, May 6 at the Columbia campus and will run 24 weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
- Transition to ICD-10 for Providers
½ day course for providers, nurses and clinicians. This class will cover how to prepare for the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10) implementation, the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and the changes to the information systems and processes that support a healthcare organization’s business operations, development of awareness programs, assessing your enterprise and planning your implementation strategy.
Class will be held Saturday, July 12 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- ICD-10 for Coders and Billers
1 ½ day class for medical coders and billers. This is a more intense course which includes
help in translating/converting codes, understanding the position of characters, change in language, importance of anatomy & physiology, documentation, using the ICD-10-CM reference manual, and coding examples/practice using the new codes.
The class will be held on Saturday, July 19 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday, July 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- ICD-10 Proficiency Assessment Prep
(Specifically for Certified Coders who must pass the ICD-10 Assessment by Oct 1 to keep their certification. Or, anyone can take this class to prepare for the Assessment exam.)
This class covers a resource book on anatomy followed by a review of important content, students will then spend 12 hours learning how to code with the new codes that are coming out, and learn the best ways to practice. Students will also spend time practicing coding with feedback.) Class total is 36 hours.
Start date is Tuesday, October 7 and will run Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for a total of 9 class sessions.
