2006-2007 Planning Council Minutes

1. Institutional Effectiveness Report
Paul presented the draft 2007-08 Institutional Effectiveness Report and asked Planning Council to review and provide comments by the end of the week. Specifically, he asked the group to consider the following:
• Are there other key achievements not included in the report?
• Are there other issues and opportunities?
• Are there other documents or information that would be helpful and should be included in the report’s appendix?
• How can the report be improved in 2007-08?

2. 2007-08 Focus
Planning Council members discussed the strategic plan and determined that the 2007-08 focus would remain Williamson County growth, student learning and Banner implementation. Specific actions include the development of a Williamson County growth plan, continued implementation of student engagement activities, and implementation of Banner Advancement and the Luminis portal.

3. 2007-08 Planning Year
Paul reported that the upcoming 2007-08 planning year would be accelerated, as compared to past years, so the planning process would flow into the budgetary process in a timely manner. The proposed schedule follows:
• Department evaluations will be prepared in June-July
• Strategic Plan Progress Report will be prepared in July
• 2007-08 Action Plan will be prepared in July
• Institutional Effectiveness Report will be prepared in August-September.
• 2008-09 strategic actions will be recommended to the president in December or early January.
