2005-2006 Planning Council Minutes
February 17, 2006

Meeting Date: February 17, 2006, 9:00 a.m., Hickman 122

Members Present: Paul Jennings, Diby Kouadio, Kae Fleming, Diana Combs, Mike Shuler, Nancy Ramsey, Christa Martin, Dan Opalewski, Kelly Stinnett, Ken Horner, Cathy McDonald, Emily Sicienski

Meeting Items:    

1. Kouadio circulates the meeting attendance sheet, and Jennings distributes the Planning Council agenda and a copy of the Columbia State Community College 2005-2010 Strategic Plan.
2. Jennings discusses the status of the Planning Council teams. Each team should interview the area vice-president and assess needs and actions to achieve their goal.
3. Jennings discusses the department purpose statements, functions and outcomes. This is an iterative tool to help department heads assess their needs, and evaluate their performance.
4. Jennings discusses the April 7 meeting considerations. Planning Council teams will give a report on this year’s plan and what’s ahead for next year.
5. Horner presents the financial considerations affecting the College’s strategic plan. Please refer to the handout for the discussion items.
6. Hawkins gives her perspective on the College’s strategic plan.
7. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 7, 2005, 9 a.m - 11 a.m. Hickman 122.
8. The meeting adjourns at 11:00a.
