2004-2005 Planning Council Minutes
January 26, 2005

MEETING: January 26, 2005, 3:00 p.m., Napier Room, Jones Student Center

PRESENT: Paul Jennings, Kae Fleming, Dusty Doddridge, Dan Opalewski, Ricky Martin, Cathy McDonald, Mike Shuler, Marilia Gerges, Kelly Stinnett, Joni Lenig, Nancy Ramsey, and Emily Siciensky

1. Mike Shuler discussed the activities of the Mission, Values and Vision team. He said that a survey on core values would be distributed on Monday, February 7 to a sample of faculty, staff and students. Results should be available in two to three weeks.
2. Leaders of the Leadership team (Nancy Ramsey), Access team (Joni Lenig), Quality team (Paul Jennings) and Resourcefulness team (Emily Siciensky) presented possible objectives for their respective areas. Planning Council members discussed several specific objectives, including those relating to a new Williamson County Center, administrative software, minority enrollment indicators, and student engagement indicators. Planning Council members requested additional guidance on the format of the plan and information on how their specific parts would fit with other parts to form the whole.
3. Paul Jennings discussed the next planning steps. These included a January 28 meeting of TBR planning coordinators, planning meetings with various discussion groups in March, and May 12 presentation by the president to TBR members.
