MEETING: November 17, 2004, 2:30 p.m., Room 122, Hickman Building

PRESENT: Paul Jennings, Kelly Stinnett, Ken Horner, Joni Lenig, Dusty Doddridge, Cathryn McDonald, Elaine Curtis, Kae Fleming, Marilia Gerges, Marvin Austin, Nancy Ramsy, Emily Siciensky, Ricky Martin, Dan Opalewski, Diby Kouadio

OVERVIEW: Columbia State’s Planning Council met on Wednesday, November 17, 2004. Dr. Paul Jennings opened the meeting and informed us of the items on the agenda.

  1. Financial environment.
    1. Ken Horner presented information on Columbia State’s financial environment. This information overview included financial and revenue trends, and was submitted for use in the strategic plan.
  2. Planning process.
    Two handouts were distributed to Planning Council members:
    1. Columbia State Community College, Statement of Mission, November 12, 2004. The Mission Statement Team developed a mission statement that was presented it at various community forums. The Statement of Mission was then presented to the Planning Council, the Vice-President of Planning and Development and to the President.
    2. Tennessee Board of Regents 2005-2010 Institutional Strategic Plans. The plan outline includes a set of measurable objectives that fit under each outcome.
  3. A discussion of faculty programs in academic services.
  4. Refer to the Strategic Planning web site for comments collected through the community forums.
  5. Next meeting date was set for December 15, 2004.
