Columbia State Offers Medical Administrative Assistant Courses

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Feb. 27, 2017) - - - Columbia State Community College’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development is offering the “Medical Administrative Assistant” program at the Columbia Campus beginning May 15.

Classes will take place Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 – 9:30 p.m. through July 5. The comprehensive 50-hour program prepares students to work as a medical administrative assistant in administrative and clerical positions in the healthcare industry. In addition, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association or the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant national examinations.

Working in medical administration offices, a medical administrative assistant’s main responsibility is to perform administrative functions for a hospital or clinic through their knowledge of both medical terminology and applications.

The cost for the course is $1,099 and includes textbooks. Registration closes April 25, so register now as limited seats are available.
