(COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Nov. 3, 2016) - - - Columbia State Community College is pleased to announce Elaine Curtis as the new vice president of finance and administration.
“Elaine’s knowledge of the college and experience will serve this position well,” said Dr. Janet F. Smith, Columbia State president. “I look forward to working alongside her in her new leadership position within Columbia State.”
Curtis began working for Columbia State in 1975. She has served in various roles for the college, most recently as the associate vice president for business services.
“Columbia State has a rich history of excellence in education, student services, administration and financial management,” Curtis said. “I am honored to have the opportunity and privilege to work with President Smith and the faculty and staff of Columbia State to uphold our tradition for quality, while seeking improvements for future students.”
Curtis earned her associate degree in liberal arts from Martin College, along with a bachelor’s in accounting and master’s in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Curtis earned her CPA certification in 1987 from the state of Tennessee and has taken various classes at Columbia State during her academic career.
Curtis, known for her dedication to the college and its students, has been honored by her colleagues on several occasions, including the 1999-2000 Outstanding Professional Staff award and the 2009-2010 President’s Medal.
