Transfer Agreements
The University Center coordinates degree plans with four-year institutions, to provide students with seamless pathways to continue their education beyond the two-year degrees offered at Columbia State. The center also coordinates the Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) at Columbia State.
Current Events
- Tennessee State University is bringing education classes to the Columbia campus this summer, for those students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education cohort. Summer Term I (June 2 to July 3) offers ECFS 3610 Tues/Thurs and FACS 1010 online. Summer Term II (July 7 to August 8) offers ECFS 4600 Tues/Thurs. Contact us for more information.
- Be sure to apply to your transfer school six months before you plan to attend. August should be your deadline to apply for Spring 2009 application to a four-year university.
- Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) classes begin June 2. To attend class, visit https://elearn.rodp.org. Your eLearn Username is your first initial of your first name + your full last name + month and day of your birthdate (no spaces). Your RODP eLearn Password is your six digit birthdate (mmddyy).
What We Offer
Programs and agreements have been established for students to earn a Bachelor's or Master's degree online, at a Columbia State campus, or by easily transferring to the next institution. There are several options to choose from:
- Course Transfers: Students who may not wish to seek a degree at Columbia State can still take courses at one of our campuses or online, and many of those courses will transfer to other colleges or universities. Tennessee Board of Regents institutions (such as MTSU or Austin Peay) have equivalency tables to aid in this process, to seamlessly transfer between TBR schools.
- Program to Program: Officially referred to as "articulation agreements", Columbia State has forged relationships with other TBR institutions where a Bachelor's degree can be started at Columbia State, and finished at the participating university. This assures a seamless transfer, and prevents wasted credit hours that may not transfer.
- Bachelor's & Master's On Campus: This is similar to the Program to Program agreements, but with a major difference -- all or most courses are taught at a Columbia State campus. These include the popular 2+2 education degrees.
- Regents Online Degree Program (RODP): Students may earn a two-degree through the RODP program, selecting Columbia State as their "home" school for up to their first two years worth of classwork. After the two-year degree is earned, or approximately 60 hours of course work is completed, students may then select a four-year institution to earn a four-year RODP degree.
