ADMISSIONS: How to Apply
Six easy steps are needed:
- Complete the application. You can either apply online or by using a paper application form.
Only apply using one method, as duplicates could delay your admission. Applications are also available at any Columbia State campus. Applications can be mailed to the address found on the form, or dropped off at any campus.
- Request transcripts. Request that your official college, high school or GED transcripts be sent directly to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. Transcripts must be sent from all colleges attended.
- Request ACT or SAT scores. Students under the age of 21 or those applying to the Nursing, Respiratory Care or Radiologic Technology programs must request official scores to be sent directly to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
- Placement. Students are placed into courses according to valid ACT/SAT scores or by taking a placement test prior to registering for classes.
- Wait for acceptance. A letter of acceptance will be mailed to you from the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
- Supply vaccination requirement. Pick the one that applies:
- Students who graduated from a Tennessee high school prior to the spring of 1999, but after the spring of 1978 must provide proof of one dose of the MMR vaccine since 1978.
- Students who graduated from a high school outside of the state of Tennessee or students who received their GED must provide proof of 2 doses of the MMR vaccination.
- Students who graduated from a Tennessee high school 1999 or after and students born prior to January 1, 1957 are exempt from this requirement.
