Engineering Systems Technology

(A.A.S. or technical certificate)

It’s a high-tech world, and Columbia State’s Engineering Systems Technology program is ready to help you get a foot in the door.

“Manufacturing has moved into an era of sophisticated computerized technology,” says Dearl Lampley, dean of the Science, Technology and Math Division. “It requires people who are highly skilled in working with complex synchronized pieces of equipment and can troubleshoot the equipment if anything goes wrong.”

The Engineering Systems Technology program at Columbia State has state-of-the-art, world class training equipment that helps provide students with the skills needed to work with complex synchronized pieces of equipment. The delivery method for the program will consist of online lectures with labs at Northfield by appointment, allowing great scheduling flexibility for employed students.

The Engineering Systems Technology program is limited to 25 students per year. Students complete the regular college admission application but will need to specify that they are interested in the Engineering Systems Technology T program.

The Engineering Systems Technology program is an Associates of Applied Science, which means students should be prepared for the workforce upon completion. All AAS degrees require general education courses (16 for AiiT) with the remaining (44) being in the major field of study.
