Traditions

In the 40+ years since it began, Columbia State has developed traditions that are still celebrated today.

Perhaps the most time-honored is the emphasis that the faculty and staff place on helping students achieve their dreams. Graduation is everyone’s focus.

“It is one thing to say you have attended a college and have a bunch of credits,” says Dr. Janet F. Smith, President of Columbia State. “But it becomes a statement of the type of person you are when you can say, 'I've earned my degree.' ”

Other traditions:
  • College colors: green and white
  • Mascot: the Charger
  • Wednesdays: students, faculty and alumni show support by wearing green!
